CIR BOARD RESOLUTION OF JULY 1, 2009


CIR Endorsement Regulations and QUALITY SEAL for Academic Events

The Interamerican College of Radiology establishes the following regulations for the approval and granting of the ENDORSEMENT and QUALITY SEAL for academic events, a policy framed within the SIRCAI Program approved in Medellin, during the “Reengineering Meeting” held in Medellin, Colombia from March 19 to 21, 2009.

1. ENDORSEMENT and QUALITY SEAL

1.1. The symbols of ENDORSEMENT and QUALITY SEAL are created for academic events in the three official languages of the CIR: Spanish, Portuguese and English.

2. Application for ENDORSEMENT and QUALITY SEAL

2.1. The association or entity organizing the academic event must send an official letter of request that includes the name of the event, location, and date. It must also attach the program, invited professors, and the most available information regarding the event at the time of the request.

2.2. The association or entity organizing the event must attach an official communication from the Society or Association representative to the CIR of the country where the academic program will take place, approving the event being submitted for approval. Without the approval of the Society or Association of that country, no application may be approved.

2.3. Applications must be submitted at least three months in advance of the date of the event.

2.4. To accept the granting of a donation to the CIR as established in these regulations.

3. Approval of applications

3.1. The CIR will evaluate the applications and reserves the right to approve or deny the requests.

3.2. The review of the applications may be conducted by those responsible for the SIRCAI program when deemed necessary due to the complexity of the process, issuing a recommendation, and will always be approved or denied by the board of directors.

3.3. The CIR will take a maximum of 15 calendar days to respond to the request, once all the required documentation has been submitted.

3.4. Approval may be granted for face-to-face, virtual or distance events, in which case, the application must specify everything related to the operational aspects and duration of the program.

4. Economic recognition for the CIR

4.1. The CIR will present through the board of directors a donation proposal on behalf of the school for the ENDORSEMENT and the QUALITY SEAL, the amount of which must be approved by the General Assembly.

5. Obligations for the use of the symbol of ENDORSEMENT and QUALITY SEAL by the organizers and the Society or Association responsible for the academic event.

5.1. The symbols may only be used by the responsible organization in its official documents.

5.2. The symbols may not be used by institutions or organizations other than the organization responsible for the application and under no circumstances may rights be granted to third parties that infringe on the property rights of the Interamerican College of Radiology.

5.3. The present regulation prohibits the use of the CIR's INSTITUTIONAL LOGO by an Association, member Society, or third party to promote or validate academic or other activities. The CIR's INSTITUTIONAL LOGO is restricted solely for special situations in which the Board of Directors approves its use, exercising the property rights to which the Interamerican College of Radiology is entitled.
