Introduction:
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) includes Crohn´s disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC), and indeterminate colitis (IC)
Objectives:
To evaluate the tomographic signs and chronicity, the location, extension and behavior according to the Montereal classification
Method:
Retrospective, descriptive study. The initial tomography´s of patients registered in the IBD clinic of the institute from 2008 to 2017 were reviewed
Results:
We evaluated 122 studies, 30% CD, 69% UC AND 1% CI. The signs of chronicity of CD were the sign of the halo of fat and the sign of the cord; the signs of chronicity of UC were mural thickening and the loss of haustrades. According to the Montereal classification, location L1 and L3 predominated and behaviour was B1, 65% of UC were E3
Discussion:
Computed tomography gives us an excelent resolution, sensitivity and specifity are high, it is widely available and can be done in seconds, and it also provides extra intestinal information
