As a medical community, at CIR we have assumed our social and scientific responsibility by joining forces with our partners to address the global problem of Covid-2019. We share image findings, reflections on scientific experiences and research, seeking to perfect diagnosis, disease classification, proper preparation of the radiology department and other management topics. 



The 30th Inter-American Congress of Radiology

The 30th Inter-American Congress of Radiology will be held in Merida, Mexico, together with the 19th National Congress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging and the 3rd International Congress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Medical Imaging.

Every two years we hold the Inter-American Congress of Radiology, thus reinforcing our commitment to provide high quality medical education.



The Latin American School of Radiology (ELAR for its name in Spanish), has as the mission of improving the level of radiological practice in Latin America. To this end, it develops efforts to offer high-quality educational opportunities and providing scholarships, financial support for young physicians to complete the three-month stay in a renowned training center, developing a training program structured in a subspecialty. 



The RSNA provides specific resources on radiology on COVID-19 through a page specially dedicated to COVID-19.

SERAM reports that the Congress has been postponed due to recommendations from health authorities. The Congress will be held from May 19 to 22, 2021, in order to preserve the health of all attendees.

This official publication of the Inter-American College of Radiology (CIR), is a series directed by doctors Ricardo García Monaco (Argentina) and Miguel Stoopen (Mexico). Each volume is coordinated by a guest editor, who in this case was doctor José Luis Criales Cortés and Doctor Fernando Gutierrez.

International courtesy registrations are offered by the organizing companies of the events sponsored by the Inter-American College of Radiology.

They are scholarships of attendance to the congresses and/or courses and are destined to the members of the CIR that do not lie in the country where the respective event is held. To become a creditor of one of these scholarships, a request must be sent to the administrative office of the CIR:

SERAM offers registration scholarships to the congress for young residents or specialist radiologists up to 40 years old, members of the CIR.  Priority is given to those who have been approved any communication to the CongressR.  Se da prioridad a aquellos a los que se les haya aceptado alguna comunicación al congreso.
