XXX Congresso Interamericano de Radiologia

The 30th Inter-American Congress of Radiology will be held in Merida, Mexico, together with the 19th National Congress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging and the 3rd International Congress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Medical Imaging.

These congresses will be held at the International Congress Center in Merida, Yucatan, from October 7 to October 10, and they will be organized in 4 Modules: 1) Neuro head and neck 2) Imagenology of Women, Breast and Gynecology 3) Abdomen and Thorax 4) Artificial Intelligence, Education, Pediatrics and Musculoskeletal.


ELAR Scholarships

During the first quarter of 2020, Doctor Silvia Lorena González Cordón, from Guatemala, will complete her scholarship on Breast Imaging at the Breast Imaging Service, Department of Radiology at Clínica Alemana of Santiago de Chile. Her tutor was Doctor Eleonora Horvath.



The period for delivering summaries for RSNA 2020 is open
A big investigation needs a large audience. Share your research with your colleagues by presenting it at RSNA 2020! We are looking for leaders in the field of radiology to provide scientific presentations, applied sciences, educational exhibitions and/or quality improvement reports. The period for the delivery of abstracts will be open until Wednesday, April 8. Submit your abstract for RSNA 2020 now.

The applications for the traveler program end on April 27
The RSNA wants to help members from low-income countries travel to Chicago for the annual meeting. We offer the International Traveler Scholarship Program—a needs-based award that gives eligible members financial support to travel to RSNA 2020. There are up to 25 $1,000 prizes and free standard registration to the annual meeting. Applications are accepted until April 27. Persons who are accepted will be notified in June. Apply now.




No paper - For an even greener ECR 2020!

The European Congress of Radiology 2020 (ECR), already certified as the Green Congress, will expand its environmental friendly measures with new initiatives. These measures include, for example, the removal of congress backpacks. The ECR aims to become one of the first medical congresses in Europe to be held completely free of paper.


The history corner: Eugene Gedgaudas

An American radiologist of Lithuanian origin (1924-2006), chairman of radiology at the University of Minnesota for nearly 20 years, author of the book "Cardiovascular Radiology" and promoter of the famous annual Minnesota Refresher Course. All radiologists in the state were invited to attend the course free of charge.

In January, we did not have a meeting of the SPR Research Group on Radiological Protection; this activity resumed in early February. During that month, we outlined the partnerships for 2020 and began preparing this year’s plans, especially the presence of Latin Safe representatives at the congresses; the first will be the European Congress.
