Radiation protection in fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy (or radioscopy) is the method of obtaining X-ray images in real time; this is specially useful to guide a great variety of diagnostic exams and interventions.

Frederic Joliot was a French physicist and chemist (Paris, 1900-L'arcouest, 1958) who discovered artificially induced radioactivity together with his wife, Irene, thus creating new isotopes.

He studied at Lakanal School, where he standed out in sports rather than in the academic activity. His family’s economic difficulties forced him to attend the free pulic school Lavoisier in ordero prepare his admission in the École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de la Ville de Paris, where he would obtain the degree of engineer in1923 with the highest scoreof his class.
