New corporative image for the NOTiCIR

The regular readers of NOT i CIR have noticed a change in the presentation of our electronic newsletter as from May 20009. The most eye-catching of these changes are the ones in the header, which is now blue and has a new design.

Nueva Imagen corporativa del NOTICIRThis change is not exclusive to NOT i CIR, it also includes the web site of the College www.cir-radiologia.org, which has a similar presentation. Therefore, our corporation presents a uniform image in all of its electronic expressions.

The change in the corporative image obeys to an iniciative from Dr Rodrigo Restrepo, president of the CIR, who had announced it to be one of his objectives since the beginning of his time in office. It was also possible thanks to the implementing company Tercer Término and to the participation of several members of our corporation who have helped in the selection of the different proposals.

This change was not only a matter of aesthetics, however. It also goes to prove that the CIR is an organization that is continuously interested in its updating and focused on its will to serve.

Successful ending for the French-Latin American Congress

More than 4,000 registered participants had the opportunity to participate and benefit from the excellent academic program that every year the Sociedad Paulista de Radiología (SPR) organizes.

In this occasion, the program offered the additional appeal given by the participation in the academic program of 20 French professors and 18 professors from the countries members of the CIR, who joined the numerous brazilean professors. All of them, together with guests from other countries, completed a varied educational program.

This congress was first conceived more than five years ago, and its organizers worked intensely in the project for the last two years. It represents a great example of how three societies can unite efforts and coordination to provide high level quality in radiology.

CIR Honors

Dr. Guy FrijáCIR Gold Medal for Professor Guy Frijá

During the past congress, the Interamerican College of Radiology awarded its highest condecoration to Professor: Guy Frijá.

When awarding the Gold Medal, the President of the CIR mentioned that this condecoration, that is usually extended during Interamerican Congresses, was being awarded to a man who has been working for many years towards achieving an approach between the countries members of the CIR and the French Society of Radiology. These efforts all resulted in this exceptional French-Latin American Congress.

Dr. Ricardo García Mónaco, Former President of the CIR and member of the committee that organized this congress, emphasized that Professor Frijá had been the real architecht of this meeting and that he was able to build bridges for the members of these three important societies to meet and share academic, cultural and friendship bonds.

I would like to thank you for the scholarship you have awarded me for the 39th Jornada Paulista de Radiología 2009 and the French- Latin American Congress, both of which took place between April 30th and May 5th in Sao Paolo. I am very grateful for this opportunity you gave me, since I was able to enjoy this event of high academic level and excellent organization, that resulted in a greater integration between Latin america and such an important radiological society as the French one.

Yours Faithfully,

Dra María Belén Orruma
Associated Physician
Hospital Italiano, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I would like to thank you for the scholarship that you have given me to participate in the Jornadas Paulistas de Radiología, which have been very useful for me in a professional level. It was a great meeting, extensive and efficiently organized. It left me with the impression that what is behind these meetings is more than just knowldege, it is the need to come together, to become more united and to enjoy what we do, always seeking excellency. I could not find the moment to thank you face to face, so I am doing it in this e-mail.

I look forward to being able to continue participating in these events.

Thank you very much,

Dr. Alvaro Salas Zuleta
