NOT i CIR enters its second lustrum
|
January 2009 marks the beginning of the sixth consecutive year of the publication of this electronical communication media known since 2004 as NOT i CIR. It was created with the intention of providing a channel of communication among the directors, the members of the CIR and the radiological community as a whole. In this six years it has achieved some important accomplishments:
First of all, the continuity and punctuality in the publication. Without these characteristics, no means of communication can be effective. We currently have a constantly growing distribuition. NOT i CIR is sistematically sent on the last days of each month to 22 directors boards of the countries which are members of the College, and the first day of each month to a directory that currently includes almost 10,000 radiologists from America and Spain. In addition to this, a growing number of societies, as well as the CIR itself, have the newsletter published in their web sites, which significantly increases the number of readers reached. Should you wish to review past numbers, since 2004, you may do so in the College’s web site: www.cir-radiologia.org.
We would like to thank the new Board of Directors, presided by Dr. Rodrigo Restrepo, for renewing their trust in us. We would like, in turn, to renew our commitment to keep improving this communication form as well as our constant invitation for everyone in our community to send information that may be of their interest.
Sincerely,
Dr Miguel E.Stoopen

Letter from the President
|
The Board of Directors that I am honored to preside has two main working lines: 1) continue with and increase the actions already existing in the College and 2) develop new work and investigation areas, that favor its growth and presence in the international radiological community.
The first line of actions, carried out by different Commissions and Departments, will be receiving all of our support as well as the support from the members of these groups.
The second line will be brought about in the form of “Specific Programs”, the initial development of which I have entrusted to the members of the Board of Directors and to collaborators whose names are quoted ahead in this newsletter. We will be giving more information about each of them as they unfold.
However, I would like to point out today that among all the actions of the CIR, those related to CONTINUOS EDUCATION are still a priority and this Board will support them, both in its succesful virtual version and in the traditional education version, with Visiting Professors (PPV), for which I would like to provide the following information:
- The Assembly in Chicago approved an increase in the budget for the PPV, from US15.000 to US 20.000.
- The applications for the following countries, with two professors each, were approved: Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina and Perú. Dates and courtesies will be informed timely.
- The assembly authorized the coordinator to decide on other programs, according to budget.
Dr. Rodrigo Restrepo
