30th Inter-American Congress of Radiology

With the commitment to hold an event of the highest academic level, the 30th Inter-American Congress of Radiology will take place from October 7 to 10, 2020, in the city of Merida, Mexico, together with the 19th National Congress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imagenology, and the 3rd International Congress of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imagenology.

The CIR and its president, Doctor Henrique Carrete Jr., were represented by Doctor Dolores Bustelo, on behalf of the International Society of Radiology (ISR), at the Workshop on Ethical Aspects of Radiological Protection, held at the world headquarters of the World Health Organization (WHO), in Geneva, Switzerland, from 2 to 4 September 2019.

The History Corner: Ian Isherwood

English radiologist (1931-2018), pioneer in the use of computed tomography and MRI. In 1972 he installed the world's first brain CT scanner of the University of Manchester, and in 1983 the world's first cryogenic MRI superconducting apparatus.

August / 2019

On 5 August we had one more session of SPR Highlights and the meeting of the Radiological Protection Study Group was held, both at SPR. In addition, the initiative featured a stand at the Colombian Congress of Radiology (CCR) and the Argentine Congress of Imaging Diagnostics (CADI). The representatives of Latin Safe, Doctor Hilton Muniz Leo Filho and Physicist Renato Dimenstein attended the Brazilian Congress of Medical Physics.

Meet the Radiological Community in formation from around the world. Departments from all continents will participate. The International Society of Radiology (ISR) will develop a Virtual Meeting during October in which 15 Departments of Radiology with Residents training from different countries and continents will present their work to the radiological community.

Each volume is coordinated by a guest editor, who in this case has been Dr. José Luis Criales Cortés and Dr. Fernando Gutierrez.

International courtesy registrations are offered by the organizing companies of the events sponsored by the Inter-American College of Radiology.

They are scholarships of attendance to the congresses and/or courses and are destined to the members of the CIR that do not lie in the country where the respective event is held. To become a creditor of one of these scholarships, a request must be sent to the administrative office of the CIR: cir.admin@servimed.com.mx.

This time the following registrations are offered:


SERAM offers scholarships for young residents or radiologist specialists up to 40 years old, associated with the CIR. Priority is given to those who have received some communication to Congress.

Attention to the deadline for sending communications: Until October 14, 2019, at 23:59 (peninsular time).
