New Books from the CIR

Advances in Diagnostic Image

This is the name that will be used to publish a series of books written by authors from the Interamerican College of Radiology.

The project was born in the city of Buenos Aires during the Argentinian Congress of Radiology in September 2006. There Dr. Miguel Stoopen, Dr. Ricardo García Mónaco -at the time President and Elected President of the CIR- and Mr. Anibal Ilguinsonis, Director of the Argentinian Company Ediciones Journal discussed the convenience and possibility of publishing a series of books dedicated to continuos medical education..

This project has received unanimous support and has already entered in its study and programming phase. It has been decided that the studies will be presented as monographies and their purpose will be to revise the most recent advances on each subject. They will be written by authors who are members of the CIR. Initially, two volumes will be published per year.

The series has been assigned to the CIR Publishing Commission, with Editorial Direction by the subscribers. It has been contemplated that if the case is worthy of it, a third party will be invited with the Scientific Editor role. The release date for the first volume has been set for September, 2008.

Today we are pleased to announce to all NOT i CIR readers that the first volume of the Series, devoted to the LIVER, will be promptly released this September.

This book will be initially presented during the Buenos Aires Congress and also in some other cities of the continent: Medellín, Medellín , México, Viña del Mar,  Montevideo, Chicago and Belo Horizonte amongst others.

XXIX Interamerican Congress of Radiology.

Dear Colleagues,

Once again we are getting ready for the Brazilian Congress of Radiology. This year in Belo Horizonte, together with the Interamerican Congress of Radiology.

Our hope is that the success reached in the last editions will be achieved again in this one. Nothing is standing in the way of our aspirations: approximately 40 foreign professors have already confirmed their attendance, the classes timetable is already finished and it includes reciclying topics as well as updating in the most current subjects of our specialties.

We will have at least two classrooms that will provide a service of simultaneous translation to spanish, to make it easier for our colleagues from other American countries and from Spain to understand the lectures.

Our Congresses have been planned with excellent scientific contents in mind, as well as a social programme that prioritizes socializing amongst colleagues. This year we will be having the company of our colleagues from the Interamerican College of Radiology. This is why we are paying special attention to the preparation of the opening cocktail party and the closure party.

We are expecting the presence of members of the CIR and the CBR who will bring prestige to yet another great radiology event.
